NBC long-running sketch show ‘Saturday Night Live’ announced on social media that Jack Black will return to host the April 4 episode, with rock musician Jack White appearing as the musical guest.

The appearance marks Black’s fifth time hosting the NBC comedy series, putting him in the show’s well-known five-timers club. His return comes less than a year after his last stint on April 5, 2025, following a long gap — nearly two decades — between his third and fourth hosting appearances.

Meanwhile, White will make his sixth appearance as SNL’s musical guest. The former frontman of The White Stripes last performed on the show in 2023 and also appeared during the show’s 50th anniversary homecoming concert in 2025.

The two performers have collaborated before. In 2018, White worked with Black’s band Tenacious D on the track “Don’t Blow It, Kage,” which was recorded at White’s Nashville studio and playfully credited to “Jack Gray.”

The upcoming episode will follow the broadcast that saw pop star and actor Harry Styles handled both hosting duties and musical performances. The April broadcast will be part of a short run of new episodes, before another brief break ahead of the season’s final shows in May.

Saturday Night Live airs Saturdays at 11:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
