How To Use This Page

You do not need to understand maps or radio terminology to use this page.

The shortest version

If the page feels overwhelming, you only need these three steps.

Press Use My Location, or tap the place you want to check on the map.
Scroll directly below the map. Your best predicted frequency is listed first.
Tune your radio to that number. If needed, try the next frequency in the list.

That is all you have to do. You can safely ignore Map options, Frequency legend, and dBµ.

The page is arranged in the order you will use it.

The coverage map Shows the areas each FOX FM frequency is predicted to reach.

Your best frequency Appears directly below the map after you choose a location.

The note at the bottom Reminds you that buildings, terrain, interference, antennas, and radios can change real reception.

How to move around the map

You cannot hurt anything by tapping or moving the map.

Choose a location: Tap or click anywhere on the map. A red marker shows the place being checked.
Move to another area: Press and drag the map. On a phone, move one finger across the screen.
Zoom in or out: Use the + and − buttons. On a phone, you can also pinch with two fingers.
Start over: Simply tap another place or press Use My Location again.

What Map options and Frequency legend mean

These controls are optional. Leave them alone if you only want a recommendation.

Map options

Opens controls for changing which coverage areas appear.

Strong: the most dependable predicted reception.
Reliable: generally dependable predicted reception.
Regional: reception that often works but may vary.
Frequencies: turn individual map lines on or off.
Show all: turns every frequency back on.

Frequency legend

Matches each FM number to its color and line pattern on the map.

Every frequency has a different color or pattern.
Overlapping lines are normal because several frequencies may reach the same place.
The lines are predicted signal boundaries—not roads, routes, or exact guarantees.

On a phone, these two buttons sit above the map. On a larger screen, they appear along the map's left side.

How to read your results

The results are ranked from the best predicted choice to the weaker alternatives.

The first frequency is the one to try first.
Strong, Reliable, or Regional describes the predicted signal at the place you selected.
If the first frequency is unclear on your radio, try the next one listed.
If no FM signal is predicted, use the website's red Listen Live button instead.

Plain-English meanings

A few labels are included for people who want more detail.

Frequency: The number you tune your FM radio to, such as 94.5 or 100.1.
Coverage: The area where a frequency is predicted to be heard.
dBµ: A technical signal-strength measurement. You do not need to calculate or understand it.
Predicted: A careful estimate—not a promise. Real reception can be different.

Location permission and privacy

Using your device location is optional.

Your browser asks permission only after you press Use My Location.
You may choose Allow to check your current location.
If you choose Don't Allow, you can still tap your location on the map.
This map does not save or send your precise location.

If you get stuck

Try the matching suggestion below.

I denied location permission: That is okay. Tap the place you want to check directly on the map.
I do not see a result: Tap once on the map, then scroll below it.
There are too many lines: Open Map options and turn off frequencies you do not want to see—or ignore the lines and use the result below the map.
I changed too many settings: Choose Reliable and press Show all. This returns the map to its normal view.
